The Heritage District Merit Badge University (MBU) is an educational and advancement opportunity open to any active registered Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, Venturer, or Sea Scout. The event is hosted by the Heritage District of the Colonial Virginia Council (CVC), Boy Scouts of America (BSA).

New for 2013-14:

  1. Merit Badge Applications. Official Merit Badge Applications, also known as blue cards are required. The card must be properly and completely filled out, and include the Scoutmaster’s signature on the front. MBU does not supply blue cards. Blue cards will be mailed to the Scoutmaster by February 17.
  2. Registration Fee Payment on DoubleKnot. The method of registration has two steps: First step is online registration and fee payment; second step is submitting the completed application form at the scout service center.
  3. Additional Notes Regarding Field Trips. Astronomy merit badge requires additional nighttime meetings in the local area. See for details.

Cancellation Policy: Sorry, there are no refunds for MBU. However, registration may be transferred within the unit by getting approval from the MBU registrar at before October 26.
